July 2, 2009 4:27pm

Dear Linda,

Congratulations on being randomly drawn to carry the torch in the upcoming Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay. You have been assigned a relay leg in Saanich, BC on 10/30/2009.  We have done our best to allocate the leg based on your preference, the positions given to us by VANOC, and your expressed willingness to travel.

In order to move forward and officially complete the process of being a Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch bearer, we need you to respond with the following information. We request that you complete and return this information (via email) by July 6.

I didn’t think I cared about it when I put my name in the lotto draw for Torch Relay participants…….BUT THAT WAS YESTERDAY!!!          I LOVE IT!  WAAAHOOooooooooooo!!!

Hi Linda, Congratulations! What an honour to be chosen, Linda. Kudos…

It was a surprise to me to hear that you have not been able to run since your accident. Please consider taking some ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE LESSONS. It doesn’t even have to be from me! The other teacher in Victoria is Johanna Godliman at 250-386-8838. Alexander work makes running very very efficient. In fact, if you want the master alexander running man–who has written a book on running using Alex tech, Malcolm Balk is teaching three classes in Vancouver in Sept. Let me know if you are interested in any of the above! (See http://www.theartofrunning.com)

  11. Linda Said,

Hey, Beverley, ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE sounds like a good idea. After the car accident the muscles and joints around L5S1 were injured and couldn’t work. After therapy they work again, but the sequencing of the motion probably is out of sync. Knees and hips are complaining already. I’ll call you.
